Job Description

To support efficient billing operations, the full-time Billing Specialist will manage daily billing processes, ensure timely and accurate claims submissions, and maintain compliance with insurance billing policies while working remotely. Key responsibilities: Prepare and submit accurate claims for patient services, ensuring compliance with third-party payer guidelines Review and reconcile patient accounts, addressing outstanding balances before filing with secondary payers Collaborate with internal departments to resolve billing issues and maintain or reduce account receivable days Required qualifications: 3-5 years of experience as a primary biller in a hospital business office In-depth knowledge of billing codes, guidelines, and regulations, including ICD-10, CPT, and DRG Experience utilizing payer portals and understanding clearing house requirements High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in medical billing is a plus Proven experience in third-party insurance billing and collections, preferably in a healthcare setting
